Inspired by our designer Dee’s trip to Japan last year, Charmed I’m Sure is a like a wearable love letter to the graceful geisha of Kyoto’s Gion district.
Think elegant kimonos, bright colours, and all the charm of old-world Japan, with a splash of Maiocchi magic.
Here’s a little note from Dee about what sparked the inspiration for this colourful collection…

Hello mavens,
If anyone asks me what my absolute favourite part of our Japan trip was, I don’t even hesitate—it's Kyoto.
More specifically, the enchanting Gion district, where history and tradition swirl together like matcha in a teacup.
We took a walking tour of Gion, led by the most knowledgeable (and delightfully chatty) guide, who painted vivid pictures of geisha life—both past and present.
I was already obsessed after rewatching Memoirs of a Geisha (as one does) before my trip, but hearing the real stories made it all the more magical.

The preserved tea houses, the intricate wooden buildings, the lantern-lit streets—it was like stepping into a time capsule, and I loved every second of it.
And yes, we did spot a real-life geisha, which was beyond thrilling!
But I must admit, seeing all the tourists dolled up in kimonos, complete with the full hair-and-makeup experience, was just as entertaining.
To top it all off, we just so happened to land in Kyoto during the Gion Matsuri Festival—one of Japan’s most famous celebrations.
Cue parades of people in traditional dress, drummers filling the streets with rhythm, fireworks and magnificent festival floats that looked like they belonged in a fairytale.
I’ve always had a love for Japanese culture, but this trip? It took my love for it to a whole new level. And naturally, I just had to bring a little of that magic home with me…
A Print That’s Practically a Postcard from Kyoto
Our latest custom print, Charmed I’m Sure, is our way of bottling up that Kyoto magic.
Featuring elegant geisha swanning about in their silk kimonos, pops of bright colour, and delicate florals gracing the hem—it’s a little piece of Japan, wrapped up in wearable fabulousness.

So, whether you’re off to sip tea, lunching with the ladies,
or just want to feel a little bit fancy, this collection has you covered.
Arigato, Kyoto—you’ve stolen our hearts.
Stay tuned, this collection is coming soon! xo
