Our new Lucky Cat Collection xo

Our new Lucky Cat Collection xo

Earlier this year I spent a week in Japan and one of my trip highlights was a visit to the Gotokuji (lucky cat) Temple.

You see I have always loved the lucky cats and back in 2018 we even did a lucky cat print.

I have kept the lucky cat dress, as it's one of my favourites. I won't part with it!

It's been a dream of mine to have my photo taken in my lucky cat dress with the waving lucky cats.

Yes, I'm that person (all about the Insta photo)

Well in July this year, all my lucky cat dreams came true!

Here is a picture of me at the Gotokuji Temple. Look how happy I look!!

The story of the lucky cats started with a samurai- Daino Li Naotaka who was saved from a lightning bolt when the abbot's pet cat beckoned him into the Gotojuki Temple. This is the origin of the lucky 'beckoning' cat or maneki-neko, which is a popular good luck charm in Japan.

The interesting thing was, that after I visited the lucky cat temple, I started to notice good luck coming my way.

We arrived at our next destination just as a carnival parade was going by. I just said to my boyfriend Drewe, as were walking along, that I really wanted a fan and in a few meters a lady was handing out free fans!  The good luck kept coming my way throughout the trip, and I believe that I was blessed with the good luck of the lucky cat.

Upon my return I put a little lucky cat on my desk for my good luck to continue and looking at it every day, I soon realized what I needed to do.

I needed to bestow some good luck on the Maiocchi Mavens by bringing out a new lucky cat collection!

We all need more good luck and lucky cats in our lives!

I immediately set about redoing our lucky cat print in some new styles.

I brightened up the green colour a bit and we made a cute tiny spot for a trim.

I hope you love the styles I have chosen….

Abagail Dress

We have done my favourite Abagail Dress in our beautiful soft breathable bamboo with the tiny spot as a ruffle and tie trim. She will perfect for spring parties and the thing I love about the bamboo fabric is that it is thermo-regulating so it keeps you cool in summer, even on a stinking hot day!

Maldives Mini and Midi Dress:

We did this dress in our little wonder print at the start of the year, and this has been my favourite style to wear throughout the year. I just love it, which is why I needed it in the lucky cat print.

At first I was going to just do the longer length. We hardly ever do shorter dress at Maiocchi.

The feedback we always get is that our ladies want their knees covered.

But I decided to go back and see which length sold best last time.

The midi or the mini - and I was surprised that the mini was the winner!

So there are some of our mavens who are loving showing a bit of leg - yay!

So we have again offered both lengths - so there is something for everyone.

Florida Top:

The cutest little top. She's like our best-selling Poppy Top but for those of you who prefer a v neckline!

The cute little spotted neckband trim, adds a 'spot' of difference to this cute little top.

This top pairs perfectly with our new  Our Favourite Ponte Skirt in green.

I hope you love our little lucky cat collection and that when you wear this print it brings you all the good luck that it has bought me.

This collection drops this
Friday 27th at 11.30am (AEST).
